    To ensure the stable operation of the power system, the organic composite coated zinc oxide lightning arrester is specially designed for AC transmission and transformation lines. It can be connected in parallel to both sides of the insulator (string), effectively suppressing lightning overvoltage, reducing the lightning trip rate by more than 60%, and significantly improving the lightning protection level of the line. Supports suspended (transmission tower installation) and pillar dual installation modes, suitable for complex environments such as mountainous areas, coastal areas, and industrial pollution areas, and is suitable for 10kV to 220kV AC transmission and transformation systems. The product adopts a high-strength silicone rubber composite jacket and zinc oxide valve plate (ZnO), with a seamless fully sealed structure, capable of withstanding extreme temperatures from -40 ℃ to+70 ℃, resistant to UV aging, salt spray corrosion and chemical pollution, and has a lifespan of up to 25 years without maintenance. Compliant with GB 11032-2000 (equivalent to IEC 60099-4), JB/T 8952-2005 and other standards, widely used for: New energy stations: lightning protection for collection lines of wind farms and photovoltaic power stations Industrial heavy areas: power grid protection in high pollution areas such as petrochemicals and metallurgy Old line renovation: Lightweight design, no need to renovate existing tower structures

Description

Organic polymeric housed Zinc oxide arrester for AC transmission and transformation lines is a new type arrester specially designed for reducing the tripping rate of system caused by lightning fault, it is parallely connected on two sides of insulator (string) to limit the lightning over-voltage and improve lightning proof level of lines. Main installation mode is suspension type (suspend on the power transmission tower), also stake type installation is available.

The polymeric housed metal-oxide arresters (suspension type, stake type) for lines produced by our company are mainly applied to power transmission and transformation systems of AC 10~ 220kV, used to limit various over-voltage situations that may arise in power transmission and transformation circuits,guaranteeing safety running of power transmission and transformation lines.

Executive standards for production of the products are GB11032-2000(eqvIEC60099-4:1991) Metal oxide surge arresters without gaps for a. c. systems, JB/T8952-2005 Polymer-housed metal oxide surge arresters without gaps for a.c. systems, JB/T10497-2005 Polymeric housed metal oxide surge arresters with series gap for a.c. electric power transmission line,JB/T8459-2006Designation for surge arrester products.


Product Feature

  1. It is made by moulding at a time from a model, good sealing performance, special structure, damp-proof and explosion-proof;

  2. Good heat dispersion, strong over-voltage absorption capacity;

  3. Compact volume, light weight, flexible installation,impact-resistant, high tensile strength, will not be damaged during transportation.

  4. It is most suitable for transmission lines which has low lightning proof level and has high lightning tripping rate; hills and mountainous areas where are

droughty and rainless; towers of high earthing resistance and cross-river towers of large span;occasions have high operating over-voltage and need to limit before entering into the transformer substation; seriously polluted areas.


Condition of use

  1. Ambient temperature shall be within-40℃~+40℃;

  2. Altitude shall not exceed 2000m (give clear indications when placing order for

plateau areas)

  1. Frequency of power supply is 48Hz~62Hz;

  2. Max wind velocity shall not exceed 35m/s;

5.Areas where the seismic intensity up to and including Ms7;

  1. Swing of Lightning Arresters is permissible, and we should consider the suspension mode

and stake mode according to the tower shape.



Using selection for AC Transmission Lines Arrester

Arresters for AC transmission and transformation lines can be divided into arresters without gap and arresters with series gap, arresters with series gap can also be divided into fixed gap arresters and air gap arresters, they have respective features in use.

Arresters without gap always take part in line running, it works when there is lightning strike on the line, it will also absorb various over-voltage energy on the line in normal state, but when the arrester has fault and fails to work normally, it makes the bus grounded,  cut off the power supply and remove it by manually. We have developed the series disconnector system for the arresters without gap, when the arrester is failed, disconnector would work automatically and let the arrester disconnect from the bus, it is convenient for customer to use and maintain.

Arresters with series gap will not take part in line running, which prolongs their service life, it discharge electricity when there is lightning strike on the line. Fixed gap arrester has advantage of stable discharge voltage range, but it will be equal to arrester without gap once the fixed gap is nonserviceabl advantage of the air gap arrester is that it will always be disconnected from the system under normal state, the arrester gap will discharge electricit when there is lightning strike on the line, but its gap will swing along with the wind, and the gap discharge voltage range is not stable. Our company has developed the arc-shaped gap to conquer the problem of gap distance changes due to swing to the extent.
